Isn't God good? This is our flower garden in our back yard starting to get pretty. :) We are ever so thankful for the blessings God showers us with!

Bible verse:
Matthew 6:25-26
Therefore I tell you, do not worry about your life, what you will eat or drink; or about your body, what you will wear. Is not life more important than food, and the body more important than clothes? 26 Look at the birds of the air; they do not sow or reap or store away in barns, and yet your heavenly Father feeds them. Are you not much more valuable than they?
(T did a great job remembering most of this verse by Friday!)
We studied Luke 12:22-34
Jesus does not want you to be afraid or to worry. What He does want is for us to trust in God that He will take care of us. He wants our hearts to be seeking the kingdom of God instead of any earthly treasure.

History:
We are reading about the Santa Fe Trail, The Oregon Trail and The California Trail.
~~~~~~~~~
Poetry/Copywork:
Such a fun poem. We love homophones! Even B enjoyed this poem and kept trying to recite some of it.
~~~~~~~~~
Science:
God made the insects and arachnids!
We learned the parts of a spider...
...and the parts of an insect.
~ ~ ~
We also learned about "push" and "pull".
~~~~~~~~~
Spelling:
Review week!
~~~~~~~~~
Reading:
I'm kinda stumped at why the readings are so short in this book. Some of the chapters are 2-3 pages long. T is thoroughly enjoying this book and easily answers comprehension questions.
~~~~~~~~~
Math:
There hasn't really been a lot of new concepts this week. We did learn about rounding to the nearest dollar, but when I tried to show T, she already understood it - sort of like it was already programmed in her brain...
We also learned to add dollars and cents with proper placement of the decimal point.
~~~~~~~~~
Artistic expression:
~Treasure chest referencing Luke 12:34~
And something for fun...T draws animals on a daily basis....she wanted me to take a picture of this.
~~~~~~~~~
We usually spread our day out fairly well. The kids wake up on their own anywhere between 8 and 10 am. They watch a little TV, eat breakfast, play a little, clean up, and we try to start working by 10. Some days we don't start until 11!
This is the usual order in which we do our studies:
Bible (always first)
History/Geography
Math
Exercise Card
Poetry/Copywork
~Lunch - right around noon~
Reading
Science
Language Arts
Spelling
Storytime
Art is usually last because it's the fun, messier stuff, and Mommy tries to focus on the more important subjects before the fun stuff. Sometimes it is right after our History lesson.
Some of our days are longer than others depending on how much time we take with each lesson. On a really good day, we can be finished in 1.5-2 hours. We have also been known to go from 9:00 AM until 3:30-4:00 PM with a ton of crazy breaks in between. (We aren't fond of those days.)
On short days Turkey is bored! She says schoolwork keeps her from being bored! I second that! :)
Thank you for tagging along!
