Bible Verse:

Bible Study:
Philippians 3:12-4:1
We studied this for almost an hour today. We also talked about salvation. Even though T prayed to our Heavenly Father several years ago about being a child of His, she prayed again today. She told God she is a sinner and that she was sorry. She asked him to remove all the sin out of her body and help her to never sin again. She said she believes Jesus died for her and wants to live for Him. It was so sweet! Praise the Lord!
T told me she was always going to remember Paul's wise words and listen to what he said about keeping our mind toward the prize of Heaven.

History:
We studied the Transcontinental Railroad. The Irish and Chinese worked on the railroad. They would have races to see who could lay the most rail in one day. The Chinese could lay 10 miles of tracks in one day! The last spike driven into the railroad was made of pure gold!
(Click the picture above to read more about the gold spike.)
We also finished our timeline! :) (not pictured)

Reading:
T finished The Courage of Sarah Noble.

Science:
We learned that molecules move faster in hot water than in cold water.
~~~
We also learned about the layers of the earth.
This is what T had to say:
"I think God made the earth's core so hot so when He destroys the earth, it will just burn through to the crust. I really think He was smart to do that."
~~~
We learned about igneus, sedimentary and metamorphic rocks.
T went hunting for rocks outside. This is what she found:
~~~
Big brother let us look at his rocks. We used some of them to categorize our rocks.
Math:
We finished 2nd grade math and did a couple of worksheets in 3rd from Math Mammoth.
~~~~~~~~~
Artistic Expression:
We were supposed to paint clouds with milk paint, but didn't get that accomplished. T did some other things with play doh. This bouquet was one of them:

Storytime:
Momma is STILL reading Follow My Leader and is a little over half-way through. We will finish this book over the next couple of weeks.
~~~~~~~~~
Poetry/Copywork:
Our poem was Try Again by William Hickson. When I searched for this poem online, it wasn't written the same. :/ T did a beautiful job with her copywork this week, but I didn't get a chance to take a picture.
I cannot believe the year has ended! What fun we had! We feel so blessed to have found the Heart of Dakota curriculum and look forward to a new year. Our Third Grade Grub will consist mainly of Bigger Hearts for His Glory and we hope to begin around the middle of July. We hope you all have a wonderful summer!
So nice to find your blog on the HHH. Your blog is very nice, and I noticed you also have chronic migraines. I pray you get something to help, because it's so hard to be a mom with migraines!
